Frequently asked questions and organisational readiness
We answer the most common questions about DATUM Data Space Gateway before you speak with our team, and explain what your organisation needs to be ready.
Organizational readiness is not a prerequisite.
It is the first strategic decision.
What your organisation needs before implementing Data Space Gateway
The Gateway does not work without a solid internal governance foundation. These are the minimum requirements.
Data Owners identified and active in the domains whose data will be shared.
Functional and technical metadata available for candidate assets for publication.
At least one certified, versioned data product with validated quality.
Candidate assets must have a security classification that allows external use.
Operational federated identity and role-based access model on the platform.
Data Office or equivalent capable of managing the backlog of sharing initiatives.
Four concrete outputs from evaluating preparation
Structured diagnosis of what is missing to participate with discipline in governed sharing: governance, ownership, quality, identity, policies. Not a generic checklist.
Each gap comes with closing proposal, task dependency and recommended order. The organization does not decide what to attack first by eye: it decides with criteria.
Each closure has effort range sized with evidence, not slogan. The investment is defensible before leadership from day one.
Readiness traces the expected capability when gaps are closed. The organization enters sharing knowing what it will be able to do and when.
